Sworn translations:
Generally speaking, these are translations given “official” status by following a specific bureaucratic procedure that involves solemnly swearing a translation is faithful to an original document. This oath is taken before a court official, in a specific office for the purpose known as Ufficio Asseverazioni Perizie e Traduzioni. The relevant stamps and duty stamps are then applied to the translation (except for a number of exemptions contemplated by the law), and the pertinent declaration is signed by both the translator and the court registrar or official.
